ICTSI sees volumes spring back in third quarter

Throughput rose 3% to 2.63m teu while margins also saw good improvements as profits rose by almost a quarter. Management is mindful of an unpredictable environment in the future however as the coronavirus pandemic lingers

ICTSI’s third-quarter performance benefited from the cost preservation measures it took to mitigate the adverse effects of the pandemic, which together with improvements in global trade, a diversified portfolio, and high levels of customer service contributed to the improved numbers. The year-to-date figures however are still lacklustre after being hard hit in the second quarter and caution prevails as the rest of the year remains uncertain
