Seadrill risks default as debt deals expire
Seadrill repeated warnings it may have to restructure its $7.3bn debt in court, a process which would probably see current shareholders wiped out
Seadrill says debt ‘forbearance agreements’ with senior creditors have expired, leaving it vulnerable to default. It had struck the deals to suspend interest payments last month as part of efforts to restructure its balance sheet
