Foreign crew repatriated at two Chinese ports

The move shows that local authorities have started to follow Beijing’s instructions to relax the restrictions on foreign crew changes at Chinese ports despite the coronavirus backdrop

Liberia-flagged vessel Berlin Trader was sold by a German owner to Chinese interests, with most of the seller’s crew hailing from Europe and the Philippines. Lloyd’s List Intelligence data shows the vessel arrived in Qingdao’s outer anchorage on September 27 — 20 days before the repatriation operation took place
