Congestion surcharge introduced at Felixstowe as costs rise
Forwarders expect other carriers will follow CMA CGM and charge extra fees because of higher operational costs at the UK’s largest container port. Fears are growing the impact may spread to other UK ports
CMA CGM will be implementing a surcharge of $150 per teu for imports and exports between Asia and Felixstowe from October 1 to recover costs from congestion issues at the port
