China tightens crew controls as port infections rise
Sign-on crew travelling from a foreign port are now required to test negative for coronavirus before arriving in China. Faking the result will lead to criminal charges, the Chinese government warns
The additional rules come after new infections were found at two Chinese ports recently. Local shipmanagement sources say the cases have dampened the prospects of restoring changeover of foreign crews in China
