Ammonia technology ‘ready in five years’, says MISC chief

MISC expects to develop an ammonia-fueled engine by 2025, chief executive Yee Yang Chien says. The Malaysian shipping line is working with industry partners to overcome the ‘chicken and egg’ situation of ammonia adoption as a marine fuel

MISC chief qualifies, however, that the shipping line supports calls for a zero-emissions transition to a multi-fuel future, in which ammonia stands to play a big role. And as a global shipping firm with the financial muscle to contribute it believes that it should play its part to help the industry
