Court rules seafarers can perform dockers’ task
Seafarers on shortsea and feeder vessels can undertake lashing even if collective bargaining agreements stipulate that the work should be done by dockers, a Rotterdam Court has found
Ruling effectively overturns the so-called Non-Seafarers’ Work Clause in a deal between the International Transport Workers’ Federation and maritime employers, commonly known as ‘the Dockers’ Clause’
