US Gulf ports brace for ‘extremely dangerous’ hurricane
Ports have closed terminals and offices with Hurricane Laura bearing down on the Texas and Lousiana coasts
The National Hurricane Center midday Wednesday said Laura had become ‘an extremely dangerous’ Category 4 hurricane packing 140 mph winds, and warned of ‘catastrophic storm surge, extreme winds and flash flooding’ along the northwest gulf coast. Many ports were closed, oil platforms evacuated and Louisiana’s LNG facilities shut down
