Zhejiang Satellite doubles down on VLEC fleet

Chinese petrochemical company has ordered another four 98, 000 cu m very large ethane carriers in South Korea and agreed to charter two more newbuildings of the same type from a domestic shipping firm

The latest deals will increase the total number of very large ethane carriers run by Zhejiang Satellite to 12 units. They come after the Chinese privately-run company in 2018 already ordered six VLECs of the same size, which were sold and leased back from MISC in July
