Panama vows ‘full co-operation’ over grounded vessel

On July 25, the Panama-flagged 203,130 dwt Wakashio spilled fuel oil when it ran aground near Point d’Esny on the southeast coast of Mauritius. The flag state gave an account of the vessel’s prior history and voyage up to the point of the incident

Almost all the fuel oil has been removed from onboard the Japanese bulker Wakashio, which is grounded on a reef off Mauritius, according to the island’s Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth
