Methanol Institute joins China's marine fuel study

The study is supported by top global producer Methanex and leading Chinese methanol producer Shanghai Huayi Energy Chemical and aims to give guidance and policy suggestions on methanol as a marine fuel. It will build on the experience the various parties have already gained in large and small methanol-fuelled marine engines

China is the largest producer and consumer of methanol globally, with well-established use in various applications. This means there is good potential to expand its role in the sustainable development of the nation’s waterborne transport sector
