Port of Charleston sees throughput decline into 2021
For the coming fiscal year, officials see a downward trend through the first six months, with container throughput expected to fall by 19.6% during that time and no sign of an uptick until the first quarter of next year
For the coming year, the State Port Authority projections see 1.24m teu moving through Charleston, down 7% from the 1.33m teu handled this fiscal year and 8.5% off the record of 1.35m teu in fiscal 2019
