Port of Houston to expand as it faces declining throughput
The US Army Corps of Engineers has signed off on a report recommending approval of the Houston Ship Channel expansion project, a welcome event for the Port of Houston which has seen its containerised cargo drop sharply due to the coronavirus pandemic
The expansion work is considered imperative in order to ease the passage of larger containerships which last year faced limited access to the 52-mile channel
