Chinese coal import restrictions hurt bulk carrier demand
Beijing has once again imposed coal import restrictions this year, following a similar pattern to last year, which is hurting demand for dry bulk carriers. The move has also resulted in cargoes getting deferred to December end
This development has dealt a blow to the capesize and panamax segments as owners were preparing for the upcoming winter stocking activities in China
