Hong Kong port alliance boosts services for barge operators
The Hong Kong Seaport Alliance has reorganised and streamlined the port’s processes and infrastructure through the use of a terminal-neutral model and standardisation of operations policy. An improved barging platform has enabled it to handle some 100 daily barge calls at 12 dedicated berths
Higher efficiency and flexibility, and shorter turnaround time, have helped barge operators improve slot utilisation, in turn encouraging them to scale up operations
