Activity in tanker FFA trades soars on heated spot market
As the spot market for very large crude carriers spiralled up to beyond $300,00 per day on October 11 based on tanker and facility attacks in the Middle East amid widening sanctions, the dirty tanker derivatives market has seen the highest volumes traded in eight years
Although volumes in the dirty tanker derivatives market have since fallen from the eight-year high in the week to October 14, the latest figure is more than double the five-year average
