Ocean freight peak season fails to materialise
As supply continues to outstrip demand and spot rates trend below fixed contract rate levels, flat demand is attributed to front-loading earlier in the season leading to higher inventory levels as well as less demand in the market and some US sourcing shifting to Southeast Asia
Carriers have little to look forward to on the transpacific trade as shippers look elsewhere
