DryShips posts second-quarter net loss
The George Economou-led dry bulk, tanker and offshore support vessel owner moves ahead with scrubber retrofitting as it edges toward a merger deal with the founder’s private fleet. The loss included dry-docking costs of $5.7m and a booking of $1.5m in vessel impairments
DryShips expects to upgrade more vessels during the rest of the year and in 2020, incurring an estimated 843 off-hire days and total estimated costs of $65.8m
