Japanese refiner Cosmo Oil sees scrubbers as viable mid-term option
Cosmo Oil, which owns six very large crude carriers, has scrubbers installed on three of its ships. The refiner acknowledges that scrubbers will be the best economic option in the next five years to comply with the International Maritime Organization’s 2020 regulations
According to general manager Mitsuyasu Kawaguchi, about 2,800-4,000 scrubber installations are expected by January 2020
