Indian oil refineries to supply IMO 2020 compliant fuels by October
The state-owned Indian Oil Corporation has already carried out tests to advance the production of low sulphur fuel oil in line with the IMO's 2020 regulations and aims to start supplying compliant fuels from October this year. Indian refineries are seen as being relatively well positioned to meet the new specifications due to their modern configuration
IOC’s Gujarat and Haldia refineries are set to produce 700,000 tonnes and 300,000 tonnes per year respectively of low sulphur fuel from next month
