US west coast ports see steady throughput despite Trump’s tariffs
The main US west coast container ports vary in their throughput figures for the month of July, but overall the region shows virtually no change in the number of imported loaded containers, with a decrease in loaded exports compared to July 2018
President Trump’s tariffs have upset global markets and unnerved investors as the trade dispute between the world’s two largest economies heads into its second year with no end in sight. But so far, as the numbers show, his policies have done little to dent Chinese imports or boost US exports
