DP World pumps $1.2bn into Indonesia port investment
The joint venture is the first between two private sector partners in the Indonesian transportation sector, and marks the re-entry of DP World into the market after unsuccessful negotiations with Pelindo III saw it ending its concession at the Surabaya Container Terminal in April 2019
The joint venture with local conglomerate Maspion Group will build a 3m teu container terminal and industrial logistics park in eastern Java. The gateway port is scheduled to start operations in 2022
