China to surpass Japan as leading LNG importer by 2022
Japan set to lose its position as the world’s largest LNG importer to China by as early as 2022, importing only 72.8m tonnes of the fuel. But it is expected to retain the number two spot until 2040, according to WoodMac
WoodMac projects that Japan will remain the world’s second-largest LNG consuming country until at least 2040
