Baltic Exchange's 74,000 dwt panamax index to be derived from fixed value

The Baltic Exchange, which has been looking to make changes to its panamax assessment since November 2015, will publish its index based on a 74,000 dwt vessel, as long as open interest remains, as a fixed value derivation rather than panellist contribution from January 1, 2020

The 74,000 dwt assessment for any contracts still trading will be derived from a fixed value average differential with the newer index based on an 82,000 dwt vessel
