US-China trade spat not a major LNG shipping concern
LNG cargoes from the US may still land in the Far East and even in China when supply tightens and if the terms appeal to buyers over and above any tariff. Hopes abound that LNG sales and purchase will be part of the package when US-China trade relations eventually warm up
For now, third-country offtakers such as Saudi Aramco have stepped in to back projects such as Sabine Pass Train 6, possibly eyeing future arbitrage opportunities when Asia spot LNG prices rebound
