Houston Ship Channel reopens after chemical spill

Ships are again traveling in both directions in the Houston Ship Channel following a vessel collision Friday afternoon that overturned one barge and left the other damaged, leaking a gasoline blend into the busy waterway. It is anticipated that for the next five to seven days all vessel traffic will be restricted to slow speed

Vessel traffic will be restricted to slow speeds through the Houston Ship Channel for up to a week as salvage operations continue
