US maritime colleges fret about the future while living in the past

US maritime colleges are struggling to stay close to an industry going through disruption. Their efforts are not helped by Jones Act legislation that is a few months short of 100 years old.

CMA Shipping 2019 has heard that US maritime education is turning out cadets for an industry in a state of change. How they adapt their programmes to make them more relevant is a key question.
