LA port delays decision on APMT's bid for automation
The commissioners were clearly not in a mood to entertain APMT’s proposal and found fault with the company’s permit application, citing one error after another in the paperwork. The commissioners also found fault with port staff for taking too narrow a view concerning the environmental impact of the APMT proposal
The immediate disagreement between APMT and the ILWU is over a permit allowing for the installation of electric charging stations, scaffolding for a vertical racking system for refrigerated containers, traffic barriers and antenna poles
