DNB defends folding ship lending into wider division

DNB’s former shipping chief Kristin Holth has defended the Norwegian lender’s decision to roll its shipping department into a wider ‘ocean industries division’ that also incorporates seafood, energy, offshore and logistics

Move is part of wider trend among European bankers, with HSH folding shipping in with real estate. ABN Amro has merged shipping and logistics, while Nordea has axed its shipping unit altogether
