Intercargo: Liquefaction still a major risk for dry bulk

Dry cargo association urged stakeholders to remain vigilant to the continued threat of cargo liquefaction in a media release. Intercargo welcomed a related update to the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes Code, but warned ship owners still need to be cautious, particularly during the wet season currently being experienced in parts of South East Asia

No loss of life or ship from liquefaction reported in 2018, but the preceding decade saw more than 100 lives likely lost due to cargo failure
