P&I clubs admit to being unprepared for autonomous vessels

A survey of P&I specialists conducted by law firm HFW discovered that a sizeable majority admitted to not being ready for Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships. Alarmingly, over half are not even working towards that aim.

Autonomous shipping has potential to significantly reduce the rate of human error, which currently accounts for more than 75% of marine accidents, but comes with risks of its own relating to reliability and connectivity
