Maersk boasts fuel transparency device to boost its bunkering credentials

Maersk will install a mass flow meter on two chartered-in bunker barges from bunker craft operator Hong Lam in Singapore; the investment is designed to improve the efficiency of the bunkering of high sulphur fuel oil for Maersk’s vessels; the news comes less than four months after Maersk Line declared it will install scrubbers on some of its boxships before the 2020 global sulphur cap takes effect

The group’s oil trading unit is investing in high-flow rate mass flow meters for the bunkering of high sulphur fuel oil at the Port of Singapore
