Sempra Energy signs definitive agreement to export LNG to Poland
Sempra Energy has signed a definitive agreement to export 2m tonnes of LNG per year to the Polish Oil & Gas Company from its Port Arthur LNG liquefaction-export facility under development in Texas. The deal advances Sempra’s goal of reaching 45m tonnes in annual LNG exports from the US, the Trump administration’s efforts to increase LNG trade to Eastern Europe and gives PGNiG ‘the possibility of trading in LNG purchased on a global scale’ in the near future
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the 2m tonnes per year will meet about 15% of Poland’s daily need
