Indian scrapyards fail to make initial cut of EU-approved facilities
Turkish and US ship recycling yards among six new facilities added to the list of those approved by the European Union ahead of new legislation governing where EU-flagged vessels can be scrapped. These are the first yards from outside the bloc to make the EU-approved list, however, two yards from Alang hoping to make the cut make for notable absentees.
With the addition of the six new yards, the EU-approved list now comprises 26 facilities
