Chancellor claims Dover port needs years to be ready for no-deal Brexit

Next week, British MPs will vote on a UK-EU deal that would, for the time being, prevent the UK's exit from the bloc without a deal. With political and economic stakes running high, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Phillip Hammond warned that the port of Dover will need two years to prepare for no-deal Brexit. The port itself appears confident that is not the case

The port has warned about the consequences of a no-deal Brexit, but it is sure it can service customers even if the UK leaves the EU on World Trade Organisation terms
