Plunging China demand hits US soyabean trade, says BIMCO report

The US has seen a 97% decrease in the amount of soyabeans it sends to China in the first eight weeks of the 2018 marketing year, and a 39% decrease in total exports. While other trading partners have made large volume increases, tonne-mileage is suffering from both fewer exports and shorter distances

Mexico became the largest importer following a 34% increase, the next three markets at least doubled US imports this season
