Danaos holds off ordering scrubbers for certain vessels
Boxship owner Danaos emerges from a huge $2.2bn debt refinance and is ‘free’ to pursue growth but it is yet is take a final decision on installing scrubbers for any of its vessels. Speaking to discuss its latest profitable quarter, the Greek owner cited recent industry submissions to the IMO advocating a ‘transition phase’ after the 2020 switch to low-sulphur fuels as something that would weigh on its scrubber calculations
