Move revealed to review 2020 sulphur regulations
Just over 15 months before the 2020 0.5% sulphur cap comes into force, some leading associations and flag states are calling on the IMO to put together a database proving the safety of things such as the newer fuels and consider whether some aspects of the regulation need to change
The proposal by BIMCO, Panama, Liberia and Marshall Islands among others calls for an experience building phase that would not ‘unduly’ penalise individual ships
