Alabama backs plan to extend Port of Mobile

Army Corps of Engineers investigating the feasibility of deepening Mobile Harbor Channel to between 50 to 52 feet and widening it to a 500-foot passing lane. Container volumes at the port have increased by about 20% for the past two years
