European Commission backs simplified port reporting

The proposal for an amendment to the Reporting Formalities Directive would see the establishment of a common EU database and user interface across the bloc, to facilitate operators using EU ports. The regulator refrained from proposing EU centralised reporting as government authorities and ports wanted a solution based on national action
