Venezuela’s crypto drive hampers tanker operations

The Venezuelan government is asking ship agents to convert the US dollars they earn from providing services to foreign ships into state-backed cryptocurrency Petros. The measure, while voluntary, is slammed by tanker players as adverse to vessel operations

Ship agents are asked to settle in Petros voluntarily even as foreign ships can still pay in US dollars
