US intermodal volumes up as shippers demand rules review
US intermodal rail volumes rose 5.4% to 11.9 million trailers and containers in 2011 and were up 20.4% on 2009’s poor result, according to figures recently published by the Washington (DC)-based Association of American Railroads (AAR).
