Piracy incidents decline
The latest figures published by the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) suggest that the presence of international naval forces in the Horn of Africa/Gulf of Aden area combined with shipowners’/operators’efforts to secure their ships more effectively, including the use of armed guards in some cases, is deterring piracy.
