I WAS fascinated to learn from this newspaper that Atlantic Container Line is to provide four-berth secure accommodation to house stowaways, who seem to regard their ships as the conveyance of choice towards their ultimate goal of America. I would have just stuck them in an empty container, but I suppose you have to be more considerate of their “human rights” these days, even though the stowaways in 2010 are, it is suggested, more prone to violence, especially if the ship is not going to their preferred port.
