JAPANESE shipowner Mitsui OSK Lines has launched the 323,000 dwt very large ore carrier Brasil Maru, which it said will begin transporting Brazilian ore to Japanese steelmakers during 2008. MOL said the bulk carrier is the world’s largest and will operate a shuttle service from Brazil to Japan under a long-term contract with Nippon Steel Corporation.
