Port in a storm Protest-hit ferry returns
Hawaii’s Super Ferry enters the Kahalui Harbor escorted by the US Coast Guard and law enforcement surveillance. A small group of protesters greeted the ferry as it resumed service to Maui. None of the protesters violated a security zone set up by the coast guard. It was the ferry’s first regular voyage since court challenges and protesters stopped the service nearly four months ago after environmentalists’ legal challenge to ferry-related port upgrades in Maui.
