EU-funded research on the Safe and Reliable Transport Chains of Dangerous Goods in the Baltic Sea region — DaGoB — has come up with a staggering figure. According to the project’s key findings report, up to 1bn tonnes of dangerous goods are transported in the Baltic Sea region every year — more than three times the volume that was anticipated when the project was established in 2006.
