Witte presses case for pollution prevention
WHEN the International Salvage Union held its annual meeting in Cape Town in October, Arnold Witte of US salvor Donjon was elected president. He is the first to hold this office for a second term. In the 1990s, Arnold Witte played a lead role in the negotiation of the SCOPIC salvage remuneration agreement. In his second term as ISU president, he is equally determined to win acceptance of the salvage industry’s proposals for the introduction of Environmental Salvage Awards.
