Foulkes: more must be made of shipping
DION Foulkes has a huge challenge on his hands. The Bahamas is one of the world’s largest flag states, home to two of the biggest ports in the region, an active member of the International Maritime Organization and criss-crossed by inter-island ferry services. But locals are barely aware of the maritime industry’s contribution to the country’s economic well-being and international standing.
