Tightening up HSE report slams conditions on rigs
North Sea oil companies have admitted that more needs be done to improve their offshore safety record, after a three-year investigation by the Health and Safety Executive condemned the condition of oil and gas platforms. More than half the industry’s facilities inspected failed to come up to standard and, according to the report, need swift infrastructure upgrades.
